Yep...that sums up my problem..
PHP works, MYSQL works, but I get errors galore. I have
extension=mysql.so into php.ini
Take a look at http://portal.clickingmad.com/test.php and see if you can
see any anomalies please someone!

Yep, after I inserted this line manually everything started working
again. I just was sure that the pkg would insert this line
automagically.

I upgraded to php 4.0.6 on a RaQ 4 and am having the same problem with
no MySQL access (I didn't upgrade MySQL).
I added extension=mysql.so to the php.ini file, restarted apache and
still no MySQL!
Curiously, when I look at my php.info, the extension_dir is listed as
/usr/lib/php/20001222 instead of /usr/lib/apache/php as it is in the
php.ini file.
Thank you to anyone who can help me! I'm really desperate!
