Ahaaaa, well Password protecting a folder is another thing all together.
A lot of people using RaQs as far as I have seen talked within this forum,
make use of the password file provided within the RaQ itself and as such
this is linked to the usernames and passwords used for a users access to RaQ
FTP and Emails (pls correct me if I am wrong).
Personally, I prefer to install an application that handles multiple
folders, users and passwords that are separate from the main RaQ, for which
I am sure there are many such applications available from the likes of
cgi.resources.com and other such CGI places. I use a commercial one as it
provides everything I need for my site....
Also, if I recall correctly there is a free to use standalone .htaccess
creation tool, but never used it myself, so maybe you should search the
archives and the like within the script sites for this tool.
If you want to discuss the system we use, which would be ideal as a members
section tool, email me off list and I will give you the low-down on it and
the like... We have installed this password system in half a dozen sites and
never had any problems with it, so could be what you need.....
Glad to have been of help....
Ian
