Exactly the case, I was sort of asking that in a round about way to begin with. Sorry for kickin the bushes butt.
Where can I get the source of for the RaQ4 kernel, or what RedHat distro/version source should I use to compile new ethernet kernel mods?

You may not have the kernel sources installed.
