I wouldn't say it's *much* simpler, though it probably seems that way when
you see I have 15 steps.  It's the same process I described, but using an
UPDATE query instead of a combination of DELETE/INSERT.  My instructions are
more generic and detailed - I chose DELETE/INSERT to handle the case of the
root user being deleted (I've known many who have done that) and I included
instructions on how to kill MySQL or restart MySQL b/c many MySQL newbies
don't know how to do that.  If a newbie follows the directions you posted he
won't get far and he'll also leave *all* of his databases open to the world
b/c it never says to restart MySQL without skipping the grant tables!  If
everyone on the Cobalt list was experiened MySQL admins I'd just say "start
MySQL with the -Sg flag" and they'd know the rest.  <g>  I'm not trying to
get into a pissing match, but I thought some on the list would benefit from
knowing why my instructions have so many steps.
