The Cobalt's userland is certainly Redhat'ish, but I certainly don't hope
they're trying to make it more Redhat-like. Redhat is there, and it works,
but it isnt exactly the most revolutionary standard-setting distro around.
I can't see why you couldnt compile mc...? You can't expect Cobalt to make
a specialised RPM for everything - hell, they have lifes too yaknow :)

Subject: [cobalt-developers] Cobalt more like RedHat
| A little while back the question (or something along the lines of)
| What could be done to make the cobalt more like RedHat for development
| purposes.
|
| I believe someone at Sun/Cobalt was asking the group.
|
| How come there is no Midnight Commander? Not really a development tool,
| but a handy one that would be nice to have pre-installed.
|
| Just a thought.
