The whole point of a PTR record is reversing the IP to a hostname.
You can have many "A records".. that is, resolving many hostnames to the one
IP... but you are allowed only to have one PTR record per IP, hence its
point. Try doing a lookup on both an IP and the hostnames of a box, you'll
see what I mean.
PTR records aren't even nessecary.
Also : do you actually _own_ the IP(s) that the cobalt is on? If not, its
very likely your PTR records aren't even being queried, so it doesnt make
any difference what it is, or how many you have set in your DNS config.
Cobalt has a DNS FAQ on their site in PDF format, I'm not sure if it
discusses PTR records or not but I'd _strongly_ recommend reading it. There
are many, many broken DNS servers out there.
Ryan.

| I had the same question and asked it of AT&T Cobalt tech support. The
| response was that in their experience, many sites have PTR records for
each
| of up to 200 virtual domains per site/IP and, no worries.
