It's supposed to be \userX, not /userX, if you want to tell sendmail
that userX is a local username, and to not try and expand it.
Basically, the file as you created it is invalid, so that's why userX is
still receiving the mail -- there's no valid instructions telling
sendmail to do anything besides add it to the /home/spool/mail/userX
spool file.
