Gerald and others often spend time on helping a lot of people and that is
fantastic. That's why we all have the responsability to first try and do
everything in our power to solve our problems ourselves by plunging into a
book or scanning the archives or dropping a mail to support at sun cobalt.
To me the developers list should only be used if you run out of resources
and you are in a jam. Then you can turn to this list. We all must be aware
of the valuable time people are spending on trying to help their collegues.
And indeed if this list is not used in the right way, people like Gerald
with a lot of knowledge will stop monotoring the questions. Personally I
would regret that very much.

Hi Peter , Dominik and Gerald,
Gerald,
It might be nicer if you remind the person that he could have found this
information in the archives, but still provide him with the link to the
correct archive, or otherwise with an initial hint how he/she can tackle
his/her problem.
Peter,
I do believe that your type of comments are not very helpfull to the initial
problem either.
Dominik,
Yes you should have started by searching the archives, because otherwise the
more helpfull people ( like Gerald ), might stop reading the list because
the same questions keep on turning up and up. Basically, why I stopped
posting answers.
But here is an initial bit of help.
Within the /etc/skel/group/en_US/web directory you can place whatever files
you wish to provide initially to your customers.
The directory for the users is slightly different, but I guess you will be
able to figure out that one.
If not search the archives, and only if you cannot find any help their post
to the list.
Cheers,
from sunny Switzerland.
