Well "man chkconfig" works, but I didn't try that.

[admin admin]$ chkconfig
bash: chkconfig: command not found

As the command didn't work, I didn't look any closer. I was suspicious as
all of the scripts in /etc/rc.d/init.d that I looked at contained references
to chkconfig.

When I specify the path ...

[admin admin]$ /sbin/chkconfig
chkconfig version 1.1.2 - Copyright (C) 1997 Red Hat Software
This may be freely redistributed under the terms of the GNU Public License.

usage: chkconfig --list [name]
         chkconfig --add <name>
         chkconfig --del <name>
         chkconfig [--level <levels>] <name> <on|off|reset>)
[admin admin]$

Thanks for the hit.

Cheers, Malcolm
