Subject: [cobalt-developers] backup solution
Hello all,
I would like to ask for opinions or experiences for the task of backing up
data from a remote datacenter to our local servers.
We have a large traffic site who serves about 1 million hits a day, data is
stored on a local database in the data center on a cobalt raq 4 server.
Can you recommend a backup solution from the datacenter to our servers with
the least bandwidth requirement needed, coz we dont want to clog our network
when backup is being done, coz this is a news site with 24/7 traffic.
I am looking for the scheduled backup utility of the cobalt, but i am not
satisfied with the compression sizes of the .pkg backup file.
Thank you all.
I also would like to ask for a load balancing and or site wide replication
for redunduncy purposes.
Thanks,
Sherwin Ang
