I was using an older release of SSH, and knowing a newer version was available, upgraded as soon as the server came back up.
Is there some sort of exploit or vulnerability with older versions of SSH? I was using the version prior to the version currently available on pkg.nl.cobalt.com. I have obviously forgot the old version number.
But I am still looking for a reason as to why the service stopped responding, and closed the port. No work had been done to the server within that would or could have effected SSH daemon. I have yet to see many services on *nix machines stop without a good reason.
Anyone have any info on this, or similar experiences? Jan Wildeboer wrote:
Please help me - if possible. My RaQ4 (all updates installed, ssh from pkg.nl.cobalt.com installed) stopped accepting ssh-logins. I went to the admin pages and they load extremely slow and often incomplete. I decided to reboot. No change.I had to enable Telnet to be able to login. Now if I try to uninstall openSSH the following happens:[root /root]# cd /var/lib/cobalt/uninstallers/ [root uninstallers]# lsAnd that's it. It hangs. The only thing I can do is stop my telnet and try again. What's going on? Is there a problem with the HDD? Somebody ever encountered something like this?Jan Wildeboer _______________________________________________ cobalt-developers mailing list cobalt-developers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.cobalt.com/mailman/listinfo/cobalt-developers
