Hi
I have run into things weird with the dns gui also. I am concerned though as
to the difficulty some are having with their raq's dns gui. I looked into mine
and luckily do not see an extra semi-colon in the conf file. But I do have this
problem, after inputting an a record and clicking "save changes to dns" I
return to the previouse screen, the control panel to click save again.
Sometimes when I return to the control panel many fields are missing and
only 3 or 4 are shown. If I keep clicking save or exit the control panel, and
return, It will show everything. When it does finally load correctly my dns
option becomes unchecked! So I recheck it, click save and after the page
refreshes I see 3 options again. It still works though so i never complained.
But it worries me though that it will become a problem. also if you have a
compter named p38.domain.com ,both my raq4's do not like that name. but if
i rename it to ppp.domain.com i can retrieve an ip address when I ping it. put
it back to p38.domain.com and do a "ipconfig /flushdns" command then ping
it, (p38.domain.com) I get unknown host. DNS has also had 3 other name
problems. my resolution was to just rename the servers and add the new
name to dns and now can ping fine.
