[cobalt-developers] raq3 httpd errors

Need some help (think I've messed up just a wee bit).

Installed webalizer-2.00.12-2_raq3-2.pkg

which installed gd-1.8 as well.  The web server crashed and can 
not be restarted as shown

 /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart
Shutting down Web Service: 
Setting up Web Service: Syntax error on line 46 of 
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/lib/apache/libphp3.so into server: 
/usr/lib/libgd.so.1: undefir
/usr/sbin/httpd

So uninstalled webalizer-2.00.12-2_raq3-2.pkg; however gd-1.8 still 
remains and appears to conflict with gd-1.3 (installed via rpm) 
required for php3 also installed on machine (via rpms).  How do I 
back out of this mess? Do I uninstall php (how?) plus all versions of 
gd (again how?), and then re-install gd-1.3,etc?

any advise useful....
