The Sun Cobalt Migration Utility (CMU) is a tool for transporting
virtual sites, mailing lists, and users from one Sun Cobalt RaQ server
appliance to another. Version 2 fixes a majority of outstanding issues
with the first version of CMU and adds features. It is not backward
compatible with older versions of CMU, all data must be exported again.
Listed below are the changes and additions in the new version.
- The -n option supports multiple virtual sites on export and import
using a space or comma delimited list, for example -n "www.foo.com
www.bar.com"
- FrontPage webmaster password is migrated.
- File ownership is migrated, even if the user id (uid) is changed.
- Import attempts to add virtual sites in order so that the site group
(site1, site2, etc.) does not change, this is not always possible.
- Supports RaQ XTR to RaQ 4 migration.
- Fixed corruption of 5c characters on Japanese products.
- Virtual site scheduled backups are exported and imported on RaQ XTR.
- Option added: -a Exports and imports admin's files.
- Option added: -S Skips conflict resolution and go directly to import,
this should only be used by experienced administrators.
- Option added: -C Runs conflict resolution only, no configuration or
data will be imported.
- Conflict resolution is improved.
* New option: deactivate a service, such as ssl or anonymous ftp.
* New option: discard a parameter, used to remove the conflicting
entry.
* New option: change a user name or virtual site fully qualified
domain name. File ownership will also be changed.
* New option: merge a virtual site with an existing site. This
imports the users, mailing lists, and files of the site, but does not
modify the existing site settings.
