Thanks for pushing me into investigating this further, Rik.  I found my
information on the "pricing" page at
"http://www.thawte.com/getinfo/products/server/pricing.html";; it says:

 Pricing
 
 SSL Server Certificate [40, 56bit]
 SSL is an efficient and very popular web server certificate.
 Average turnaround time from the receipt of your documentation
 and payment is under three business days, depending to some
 extent on your country of origin.

and then it goes on to show the two-year and one-year prices.

I just presumed that the pricing page would be definitive.  Maybe I
shouldn't have been, maybe the site is just confusing.  You decide <wry
grin>.

Yes, as does this, which I found at:
"http://www.thawte.com/getinfo/products/server/contents.html"; when I
clicked on "More Info" for the cert:

This clarifies it even more.  If only they'd fix the pricing page so we
could all be sure <wry grin>.
