Hey all,
i have a nice project to think trough
we have a client who wants to have a cube3 for filesharing. What he requested
was a cube3 with 60gb in raid, so we need to implement a total of 120gb
now we tought of 2 solutions :
1. 2 disks of 72gb ide in the cube, but i don't really like this one ...
2. external scsi hd box connected to a cube3 professional
the real problems are these :
1. will the software support this and if not will it be easy to implement ?
2. what will happen in the feature, is this something that can be used in
long-term?
3. well, is this really a case where the customer looses waranty ?
this was the answer from cobalt support:
Hello,
This is a not supported question and we didn't try anything like this so
far.
So my advice is try your self and concerning the software support i advice
you to contact our professional services after your successfully installed
the Hard Disks.
we are gonna try it ourselves, but i'm still waiting for parts, maybe that one
of you can do it also ? like this we have more people working on bugs
p.s.: a new cobalt faq and questionssite would be nice, i'm in for content if u
need me
