Developer List Members,
We have recently been experiencing frequent problems with our Qube 2. It randomly freezes for no reason. It does not have a high work load; it only serves about 10 PC's. It has a 1.5-6MB DSL connection, and serves only FTP. All the latest patches have been applied.
I say the freezings occur randomly, because it happens maybe 2 twice a week, then it will happen 3 times a day, or in the middle of the night. I have read some threads suggesting that the Qube has a hardware glitch that causes this when the lastest patches are appplied, or that the system board is going bad, or that the power supply is bad. The power supply is through an APC Backups Pro 650, so there would be no problems there since the same supply feeds our other router. This particular Qube froze once or twice in the year before the latest updates were applied. All updates since "out of the box" were applied all at once, according to the Cobalt instructions, and rebooted whenever requested. Since these updates the freezing problems have occured.
Thank You for your time and support,
Donald Tripp
