hello,
I got the source, did a ./config with all the options (I had to change
a reference to --with-db3 to --with-db and performed a make...)
now, I **could** go ahead with a make install but I am scared I will break
something. I have a nice working php 4.0.3pl1 but need 4.0.4pl1 to install
turbine or ming for a job we just got -- upload your picture to a swf kind
of thing.
I know we are supposed to pkg, I know I can throw my warrantee out the window,
all I would like to know is if there is any way to safely make an install
and then uninstall, if all hell breaks loose.
I imagine rpm would help but I have no experience of installing a rpm on top
of another, I get the eerie feeling it would not allow me to go back.
Any wise words of wisdom are very welcome!
