I cannot agree more ... It appears as if a java process is running for each
virtual site, which is using a lot of memory.
One quick way of getting rid of it (RaQ 4i) - copy the pre-installed copy of
httpd.conf (called httpd.conf.pre-tomcat) back to httpd.conf and restart htppd
(from /etc/rc.d/init.d)

Yes, it should work similar to the PHP/ASP switch ...
The installation directory also defaults to /usr/java, causing the root
partition on my RaQ to grow to 86% full ...
Sun rushed in too soon here - this does not appear to be ready for a production
server.
