Hi, I am new to cobalt so forgive me if these are already answered - but I
have searched the archives and cannot find anything.
At first power up the unit stopped with the LCD saying "Booting..." I left
it for almost an hour, but nothing. Seeing as there was no drive activity, I
power cycled the unit and this time the system seemed to boot properly. I
followed the quickstart guide and enetered the following information.
Using LCD:
IP Address: 10.0.0.1 (1st server on my local net!)
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 0.0.0.0
Booting continued, so I progressed to the setup wizard and eneterd the
following...
Server name: ns1
Domain Name: pmcnetworks.com
DNS Server 1: 10.0.0.1 (This unit will run DNS eventually.)
And the admin passwords.
After saving, I got the message saying that online registration could not be
done - Okay. Then I get the about page.
But if I go to the main admin (10.0.0.1/admin) The cgi for the center bit
(siteList.cgi) fails with an internal server error. And returning to the IP
alone, restarts the setup wizard. Also if I use "Control Panel -> Network "
to try and change any IP's or activate the second nic with another IP
address, that script also fails.
Any ideas?
Also, for now, I am going to be developing at home (hence the local network
stuff) So I would like to use the RaQ as a router using ipchains and a cable
modem ...
1.) Is it possible to get the second nic card to get IP address from the
DHCP via the cable modem? If so how?
2.) the IP Chains command seems to be missing, but the kernel would
appear to have been compiled with the support for it. (I have noticed other
files relating to ipchains in the /proc directory.)
Any help with this would be great...
Paul
