Hi all,
Sorry you may see this post again as the first attempt is being held
for review since I changed e-mail addys and the one I used wasn't a
member of this list then.
Just a quick note that may help a few with *slowness* with FTP, e-mail
etc... If you are using a firewall on the machines that are logging
on, make sure you have PORT 113 (Ident port) available. Once I made
this change locally, FTP, SMTP, POP all were back to the speed one
expects. A lot of services wait until it times out (the delay) if it
cannot gather this information from you. Even connections like IRC
will now be faster...

: I'm using CuteFTP to connect to my Raq4r... usually i connect and
all
: directories and transfers happend very quickly. Just today
connecting to
: the Raq is taking a long time (45 seconds). It also takes a long
time to
: LIST the directory and upload/download files.
:
: The web/email server works great... the pages load up fast and there
are no
: problems. What could the problem be? Should I reboot my Raq or is
it just
: the internet being aweful slow?
