If you supply the '-p' flag without a password it will prompt you for it.
If you don't supply the flag it assumes there is no password.  FYI, there is
no connection b/w the server's user system and MySQL's privilege (user
access) system.  mysql, mysqladmin and the rest of the mysql commands can be
run by any user on the server as long as they supply a MySQL user/pwd combo
that's granted permission to do so in MySQL's grant tables.  See the manual
at www.mysql.com for details.

I'm sure it does.  I haven't used the package at pkg.nl.cobalt.com, but if
the instructions aren't clear to a newbie, then you may want to contact the
author and make some suggestions.
