I can't think of a reason why the DNS has to be added in any particular
order. Perhaps there was some miscommunication on this issue or some
misunderstanding on their end.

This will tell you your sites and their site number, which corresponds to
the order they were installed:
ls /home/sites | grep /home/sites/site
This will tell you the order the users were created:
more /etc/passwd
The uid (user id) is the third field (fields are separated by colons ":").
Each time a user is created the user is assigned a uid one greater than that
of the highest uid created using the Cobalt GUI.
*** IMPORTANT NOTE ***
If you have deleted sites or users there will be gaps in the numerical
sequences of the user uids and the site numbers. I don't use the Cobalt
backup system, but I imagine this could complicate things if Cobalt's backup
expects sites and users to be created with the site #s and uids they had
previously.
