the change from 2.2.16 to 2.2.18 is especially painful for us, because of
integration of external patches. I will do a 2.2.18 patch, and in the
nearish future. I can't say when it will be "official", but I think it
will become so.

Do you want to understand our patches, add some, or apply ours to other
kernels? I'm not sure what you're asking for.
