Dear Cobalt Developers,
This is an update on the problem with duplicate digests being sent to
some members of this list.
This morning we updated the MailMan program that runs this mailing
list, and that seems to have fixed the root cause of the problem.
There also seemed to be a problem where some submissions were getting
stuck and never being posted. I believe the updated software also
fixes this problem.
There might still be some duplicate digests still in the outbound pipeline.
Just to be safe, I will not be turning digests back on until Monday,
to let things settle down.
I apologize for the incredible inconvenience this may have caused for
some of you.
We value your partnership and look forward to continuing to work with
you in the future.
Best Regards,
/Gordon
Dear Cobalt Developers,
The list server that is running this mailing list is having some problems.
People who subscribe to this list in digest form are getting
repeated copies of the digest.
I do not know the root cause, but it is a very annoying problem to
these recipients, and so I have instructed the MailMan program to
disable all digest sending until the problem is isolated and fixed.
List members who have not asked for digests should still receive
individual messages okay; the problem seems to be isolated to
digests only.
Unfortunately, that means I can not directly reach those people
directly effected, but I do want to alert the list at large of the
problem and the steps I have taken.
I have a call in to the appropriate IT folks for followup action.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
Best Regards,
/Gordon Garb
