[cobalt-developers] telnet and su problems

hi

I am currently having telnet and su problems on a
Raq3...i can't seem to telnet in as any user - Raq
responds with incorrect password.

The only way I can get access to the machine is if I
use SSH but even then the su command doesn't let me
switch to root - same error, incorrect password.

I know that the root password hasn't been changed -
this is because i can log in directly as root via ssh.

It seems very strange that this has happened all of a
sudden....has anyone else come accross this problem? 
I've tried rebooting but the problem remains.
