RE: [cobalt-developers] redhat version on raq3 (how to build a test environment)

RH 6.2

We are testing a cobalt OS under VMware but the restore CD won't go on a PC
directly (yet!) cos of the setup via the front panel, so the easiest way is
to setup and partion a RH6.2 system then download all the config/system
files from a live/test RaQ this should mirror the cobalt os enviroment ok,

Or register as a developer and by half price raqs!

Subject: [cobalt-developers] redhat version on raq3 (how to build a test
environment)

Hi,

I;m trying to determine the version of redhat that the raq3 is based
on with a view to building a test environment locally on any old
pc which we can test modifications on before installing them on
our production raq3 server, does anyone have any relevant
information?

In particular, can anyone recommend the best way of building an
environment on a normal pc that is similar to the cobalt raq3 for
testing purposes?

I was thinking along the following lines,
1. install basic redhat from which raq3 install is derived
2. install cobalt RPMs
3. install cobalt pkg updates
4. begin testing

Does this seem reasonable? Can anyone give me pointers to the cobalt
RPMs for a raq3 (the ones on the cobaltnet FTP site seem to be ancient
and presumably relate to the MIPs distribs)

Thanks,

-stephen
