RE: [cobalt-developers] First steps into Sausalito

I've installed the PopTop VPN for our MS users. A couple of the ppp kernel
files had to be patched by hand. The file dates weren't exactly right,
so the kernel patch script didn't update them. Other than that, just follow the
directions. http://poptop.lineo.com.

For the UNIX to UNIX connection, I'm planning on using VTun,
http://sourceforge.net/projects/vtun/ My understanding is that it doesn't
require kernel patches.

Don't worry about recompiling the kernel, just save the old kernel and modules
just in case. There is a kernel in the ROM. Hold the select key while powering
up the Qube and you'll get a menu with options to boot either the ROM kernel or
from the net for from disk, etc. I've tested this, so I know it works.
