Hi Malc,

I've been looking at the same problem but for a Qube3. After performing a
restore from the Master CD and examining the Setup files, there is no reason
why an Intel based Cobalt Image shouldn't work on a standard Intel based
system.

The setup programs for the Master CD actually check the platform they are on
so they can pull the right software from the CD onto the system and it
wouldn't find the Qube3/Raq3/Raq4 tag, so the install procedure would halt.

There are two things I'm wanting to look into further.

	1) Take the H/disk out of a Cobalt Server and plug it into a PC with
compatible hardware. If the original system is preconfigured then it should
be possible to use a browser to modify settings from then on.

	2) Connect a USB Keyboard and PCI video card to a Qube3 and see whether it
is possible to change the config as though it was a workstation.

Obviously using the Master CD to install the Cobalt OS onto anything other
than the Cobalt Product it was supplied with is a breach of the License
Agreement, and I am still un-aware what Cobalt's position on such usage is
if purely for development/experimentation purposes.
