[cobalt-developers] ANN: InterBase Workbench 0.8.1 available!

Hi all,

Upscene Productions is proud to announce a new version of InterBase
Workbench - the developer tool for InterBase. It's ready for download right
now! Visit http://www.interbaseworkbench.com to download this update.

New features:

Enterprise Manager
- Un-register servers
- You can now even register a server that doesn't respond
- Un-register databases
- Adding or deleting a Backup or Restore Project now adds it to the
corresponding server node

Procedure Editor
- You can now edit 'scale' of Numeric parameters

Constraint Editor
- The 'Extract DDL' menu option now works

Database Navigator
- Double clicking a procedure now opens the Procedure Editor
- Double clicking a constraint now opens the Constraint Editor
- Now lists triggers on Views
- De-activate and activate triggers from the Navigator (right mouse click)
- New option 'Autoexpand fields' for tables, views and referential
constraints
- Drop database objects from the treeview

Trigger Editor
- Now supports triggers on Views

All Object Editors
- An 'Extract DDL' button in the toolbar as an addition to the 'View' menu
item
- A warning (for IB6) or error (for IB5.x) is given if you use InterBase or
SQL92/99 Keywords as an object name (unique feature!)
- Synchronization between object editors (adding, deleting objects),
Database Navigator and Describe Companion (eg: Generator Values)

Overall
- More query effective fetching of Unique Constraint, Primary Constraint and
Foreign Key Constraint data
- More query effective fetching of Index data
- Several forms remember their size when closing and re-opening
- 'Find Next' and 'Replace' added, remembers last few search strings

Bug fixes (some of these were released as a new build 0.8.0.x):

- When registering with the 'local' server, in certain conditions a AV would
occur
- When adding a column to an existing table, you cannot change the 'not
null' attribute
- In the Single SQL Editor, you would sometimes get a 'field name missing'
error
- Saving a resultset sometimes wasn't possible because the 'Save' button was
disabled
- Columns created as 'numeric (18, x)' were extracted as INT64, an unknown
type
- Selecting 'extract DDL' from the Procedure Editor and pressing 'cancel' in
the options dialog would result in an Access Violation
- Selecting 'extract DDL' from the Procedure Editor shows a dialog asking
for 'Full DDL' or 'modification DDL', even if you didn't change anything
- Extracted Trigger DDL didn't use quoted identifiers for IB6, Dialect 3
databases
- Quick Browse for tables and views with mixed case names didn't work
- No DDL for Unique Constraints was extracted when extracting Tables or the
full Database
- Extracting Table DDL sometimes forgets the primary key constraint name if
it is user defined
- Views did not use quoted identifiers when creating a view
- Extracting Procedure DDL from the Procedure Editor didn't include the
terminator
- Trigger Editor didn't use syntax coloring settings
- Trigger Editor had a 'column type 0 unknown' error when doing a 'select <>
from <> into :<>'
- Procedure Editor didn't use syntax coloring settings
- Procedure Editor now uses the Upper Case Identifiers setting for procedure
parameters
- Table Editor would allow modification of columns attributes (default, not
null etc) if the field wasn't new
- Grant Manager would not execute grants for Dialect 3 quoted identifiers
- Constraint Editor memory leak fixed
- Show/Hide line numbers and SelectedColor/SelectedBackColor from the
Preferences screen now works
- Connecting to a database would turn 'Forced Writes' ON for that database -
it now keeps the setting as before connecting
- When adding/deleting backup or restore projects, the Enterprise Manager
wouldn't synchronize the list of projects
- When closing the application while having a Object Editor on screen, this
would result in an AV
- 'Quick Browse' screen didn't close automatically when closing down the
Database Navigator
- Index Editor wouldn't save index when only changing the 'active' checkbox
- (De)Activating an Index from the Database Navigator didn't use quoted
identifiers

enjoy!
