Hello:
I am having problems with the GUI Management screens for my RaQ3. I think
the problem started when I was installing Neomail. It requires a newer
build of CGI.pm, so I installed it. Somewhere along the way, I ended up
with perl 5.6.0 installed.
Now, when I attempt to log into my Server or Site Management Screens, I get
the error "The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and
was unable to complete your request.". All other services on my machine are
intact. I have web/e-mail/ftp and telnet.
After many hours of digging through the list archives, I understand that
upgrading Perl can break the GUI. I'm guessing that is what happened. I
tried some of the remedies that I saw on the list archives, as listed below:
Some of the mail list archives recommended installing the following RPM's
from ftp.cobaltnet.net:
perl-5.00503-2.i386.rpm
special-sauce-8.0-32.i386.rpm
I installed these using "rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps
special-sauce-8.0-32.i386.rpm perl-5.00503-2.i386.rpm". They installed
fine. It still did not work and the perl path when typing "which perl" was
incorrect (i.e. not Cobalt standard). I found another mail that recommended
removing the directories and files for the defective build of perl and then
re-booting the server. This did restore the perl paths, but still no GUI
access =(
I do not have physical access to the machine and the ISP who houses it is
not very helpful. So, using a restore CD or using "sysreset" are really not
preferrable options.
Can anyone please offer me some advice?
Thank you and Best Regards:
