[cobalt-developers] glibc patch killed my RaQ4

Recap:
I installed the glibc patch from Cobalt on my RaQ4r per the instructions.
I ftp'd it to the RaQ, and used the "Loaded" selection from the GUI.
The install failed with some "script" error.
I telnet'd into the RaQ and any command (eg ls) was greeted with libc.so.6
errors.
I rebooted, and the system doesn't get past init.

After speaking with cobalt support, I followed their suggestions on trying
to
recover the data. I noticed that the root partition on the RaQ's had only 3M
of free space, and that the /lib/libc.so.6 file was a symbolic link to a
non-existant
file, namely libc-2.1.3.so.  (For those interested, I used a Mandrake 7.2
system
and attached both drives so the same ide bus. I attempted to mount each
possible
file system (in read-only mode) until I found the one I needed. The mapping
was
/dev/hdc3 = /var, /dev/hdc1 = /, and /dev/hdc4 = /home, all ext2
filesystems.
Don't try this at home.)

My working theory is that the install did not properly verify that there was
sufficient
space on the root partition, since the libc-2.1.3.so file is 4M in size on
another RaQ
that I have.

According to Cobalt support, my only option is to send in the RaQ4 for
restore.
Currently, there is still no RaQ4 restore CD available from Cobalt on their
website,
through I'm not sure I would've been able to get far enough on the RaQ to
use it.

On my RaQ3 I had no issues on installing the glibc patch, BTW.
