Hi,
I had a lot of 'hassle' trying to sort this out, but I eventually found a
solution ( for the RAQ4) as follows, which did not involve any manual mods
to the sendmail configuration files.
example. testdom.com
virtual site
********
when creating the virtual site do the following.
create email aliases testdom.com and mail.testdom.com in the email alias
entry area.
dns entries.
*********
auto reverse A record for testdom.com
non reverse record for testdom.com with www as host
non reverse record for testdom.com with mail as host
create MX record for testdom.com pointing to mail server www.testdom.com
users
****
when the user who is to collect the 'catch all' email is created give them
an alias of @www.testdom.com
summary
*******
For me this gives a complete working solution on the RAQ4 that will allow
the users set up on the site to have email aliases and one user to have the
'catch all' account. The mail host dns and the mail.testdom.com aliases were
set up so that the mail could be accessed via mail.testdom.com rather that
the suggested www.testdom.com.
Hope this helps,
Steve
(many thanks to Herb for his help in resolving the problems I had)
