[cobalt-developers] Support for the Intel PRO/DSL 2100 PCI adapter

I have done a few basic DSL setups for some smaller companies in my area
(Portland, Oregon). I am thinking about using the Cobalt Qube in the near
future. The one thing that the Qube appears to lack is support for is the
Intel PRO/DSL 2100 PCI adapter. The 2100 is a low cost DSL adapter that
Qwest uses for its DSL connectivity. Qwest also offers the Cisco 675
external DSL to Ethernet router but is an additional $150 or $200. I would
like to use Intel's card partially because it shaves $150 off. But it also
provides a solution in a single box (the Qube). To the customer this
appears to be a much more elegant solution (the Qube is cool looking, I
would hate to ruin it with an ugly grey box dangling next to it). The less
extra wires and boxes makes the solution appear to be much more 'solid' and
'clean'.

Intel has seems to have no interest in developing drivers for anything other
the Microsoft platforms. According to Alan Cox they have agreed to release
documentation under a non-disclosure agreement. Intel would allow the
resulting driver, source and all to be released under GPL (or other license
I'm sure). I would write the driver myself but unfortunately I am not
skilled the necessary disciplines.
