We know that Oracle 8i can be installed on RaQ 3i, 4i, and 4r server 
appliances, and it works well.

We're working on a Tech Note to help with Oracle installation on the RaQ 3.
It was originally written over a year ago, so it is a bit dated right now.
We are working to revise and update it, but don't know  when it will 
be finished.
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/developer/TechNotes/DTN5-0-5.pdf is the 
current draft of the note.

Here are known errors in the current draft:
1) Some of the binaries you need, like xfree, are NOT available from 
Oracle as stated in the draft, but instead can be found for now at 
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/users/gordon/oracle/.
2) I'm not sure the vmlinux.gz step indicated in the Tech Note is 
relevant anymore.

I am providing you with this work-in-progress information to help you 
as you work to install Oracle 8i on your own RaQ. Consider this draft 
as a set of rough suggestions, but validate the steps yourself before 
installing any software or risking any data.

As we update and correct the Tech Note I'll post to this list.
