We were able to do a Qube2 install in a Raq2 and have the Raq run the
Qube software perfectly, though when we put the 10 Gig Raq hard drive
in the Qube2, the LCD stays on "Starting Up". We swapped the ram from
the Qube to the Raq and the Raq boots fine off the newly installed Qube
software with the Qube's ram. When we put the Qube2 HD that was working
in the Raq in the Qube, we get a slight grinding sound and the Qube just
sits there with the "Starting Up" message. Since the Qube drive and Ram
works in the Raq, it proves that the HD and Ram is good as tested.
Is this a bad power supply on the Qube, bad brick power adapter, or something
else faultly in the Qube2s? We have brand new IDE cables in the Qube.
It makes me feel that the previous postings in the archive about the
"Grinding Hard Drive" problem experienced by other Qube2 owners was not
actually the Hard Drives, but rather faulty power system inherent in
the Qube's design. Has anyone upgraded or repaired their power systems
and if so how much does it cost to repair.
Appreciate feedback as always and have a pleasant Thanks Giving.
