Hi Jeff
Thanks for all the input,
Just to explain. This RaQ3 is a standard box no mods just the official
cobalt updates. At some stage during the updates being installed things
have stopped working. I have had this many times before with other part of
GUI being changed etc..
The last one was the display of DNS records in the ARPA domain ie reverse
domain were never listed so you could not edit them. that was a typo in the
scripts.
So
I do every thing correctly as per the cobalt ways. add A records add MX
that uses an A record points back to the box.
If I tick the box accept email for domain in any of the virtual sites
settings. then as you say in /etc/virtusertable you get a line with a
%1@ rewrite
but that causes a loop MX failure.
so I un-tick the box thus the virtusertable has then no %1@ lines. and I
then add an entry in the email settings from control panel which adds a
line in sendmail.cw
and everything work fine.
Also I have noticed that any users added should have an /etc/aliase entry
in the format firstname.lastname: userid
this now does not work. it did before but not since some of the OS Upgrades
were installed.
I have been configuring Linux boxes (not cobalts) for years and never had a
problem.
I have an out of the Factory RaQ3 here with freshly installed OS Updates to
take it up to date that NOW no longer works
It has one user Admin.
If you want access to it you can. it also does not work.
