What do you mean by not correct? Can you give us references?
On my Slackware and RedHat systems I, as Cobalt does, do my user
aliasing in one step in the virtusertable. Because Cobalt allows you to
get email either at host.domain.com or at domain.com, they receive all
mail at .host.domain.com, and if you enable mail for domain.com, they
just add a line to virtusertable enabling deliver of mail addressed to
domain.com to be delivered at host.domain.com.
Sounds pretty reasonable to me, to give you the flexibility they do,
with the least complexity.

Try the simple stuff first; it may help. If you know what needs to be
in virtusertable, then you can always put it in below the line near the
bottom. I've got lots of custom work in my virtusertable. If you do
that, be sure to hash it when you're done:
# makemap hash virtusertable <virtusertable

Okay, let us know what in virtusertable doesn't work, and what you want
instead, and we'll see what we can recommend.
