Re: [cobalt-developers] MySQL...

Mine is universally accessible. The mysql alias may need to be defined for everyone, and using mysqladmin you may need to go in and create individual users for each domain, and set the grant's up. But its working fine for me.

mySQL users are distinct from system users- any system user can access any mysql db with the appropriate username and pw- user x can access the mysql db from root without logging in as root.

Not sure if this helps but..

Does anyone know if there is a special way that MySQL has to be configured
to run on the RaQ 3 so that all the virtual sites are able to access their
own databases and manipulate these databases with PHP???

I installed MySQL then PHP - I know PHP is working on all the sites, I have
tested it...
I know MySQL is working to some degree because our Kurant Store Sense is
using it, but I can't get it to work on my virtual sites...

All I know is that it was installed by the book, which doesn't give
instructions on configuring it for virtual sites... I don't see any
indication that MySQL is server wide, like the modules for PHP and Perl...

SO what do I have to do to configure it to be server wide???

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...
