[cobalt-developers] Help: Cannot access folder which protect by .htaccess and .htpasswd

I just have a Cobalt RAQ3 server.  I followed the instruction on Cobalt
support page and create htaccess and htpasswd files for my clients folder.
However, the password seems always incorrected !

The strange thing that each time I run /usr/sbin/htpasswd -c
/home/sites/sitename/web/somedir/.htpasswd <username>, it generatee a
different password :(   So how can I tell which one is corrected ?  Is there
any problem on my server ?

Please help me since my clients they complain too much !
