Its not really too bad- grab the openssh sources and look at the readme. Its gets tricky in the end though when uyou get to the passphrase and all of that. It never really asked me for one, but I kept getting errors so I went back to the docs and found a bunch of utils. One of them generated the key from the passphrase, so I ran it. Things got better, but still not nearly perfect.I have yet to sucessfully actually log in with ssh, but I think its close. I got to the point where it asked me "Do you want to continue?" in the login, which I later learned is NORMAL for the first login for a given user. Ya gotta watch for that one.. It looks like an error but it isn't really.

try ftp://ftp.openssh.org -- you'll have to compile it for your
system, but this also gets around any RSA licensing (that or
wait till September when their patents expire in the US).

Installing software does not necessarily void your warranty,
just software you install yourself is not supported by Cobalt
and if you mess something up -- you get to fix it.  Doesn't
matter if the problem came from a software install or you
twiddeld your thumbs the wrong way while logged in as root :).
