[cobalt-developers] recovery disk

I have a Raq3 and cannot get the recovery procedure to work

it says to press and hold the  <  and  >  keys then power on.

for me nothing happens how long do you press and hold.  the box simply just 
boots up however long I press and hold the < > keys

anyone tell me what is supposed to happen ? I have tried this many times 
but noting.
