I had to change
LoadModule php4_module        lib/apache/libphp4.so
to:
LoadModule php4_module        /usr/lib/apache/libphp4.so
and then it worked perfectly. For some reason it had got upset with paths on
the cobalt.

Other than that, it works out of the box, exactly as the readme says :-)
