RE: [cobalt-developers] [Fwd: Re: RAQ 3 Templates]

The flat text files that are used to build the message catalogs are located
in:

/etc/cobalt/messages/en_US/

ui.po - User Interface Messages
special-sauce.po - Special Sauce Messages

After you edit the files, you have to rebuild the message catalogs using the
'msgfmt' command and then copy the resulting .mo file to
/usr/share/locale/en_US/LC_MESSAGES/

ui.mo - User Interface message catalog
special-sauce.mo - Special Sauce message catalog

The special-sauce are all the perl libraries
(/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/Cobalt) that make the Cobalt OS.

Hope this helps...

they are simple flat text files in the format

mesg_007
"This is a cool function"

or similar. i found them just this afternoon (searching something
different), and now i can`t locate them anymore. i did not use find as i
don`t remember how the format was exactly.

if you can`t locate them, choose a message from the gui and run find for
it (may take some time...)
