Re: [cobalt-developers] Automatically loading SCSI driver on Qube2?

Byron,
I am also using the 2930U. Initially I had the same symptoms, the kernel did not recognize the SCSI card

after the upgrade to the experimental Kernel, my Qube2 is working with my tape drive. (Thanks to Tim Hockin from Cobalt)

ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental

the files are:
        kernel-2.0.34C53_SK-3.mips.rpm
        kernel-headers-2.0.34C53_SK-3.mips.rpm
        kernel-source-2.0.34C53_SK-3.mips.rpm

Hope this helps

Hi,

I now feel like a complete idiot: I have a modified aic7xxx driver that works with an Adaptec 2930U SCSI card, but I can't get it to load at boot time. I have tried
a couple of things with /etc/conf.modules and currently have the lines:

        alias scsi_hostadapter aic7xxx
        install scsi_hostadapter modprobe scsi_hostadapter

but when I boot the system I get a message like:

        scsi: 0 hosts

and the driver doesn't load. After the qube2 boots I can run modprobe and it
loads just fine.

Anybody know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,

Byron
