[cobalt-developers] cobalt glibc 2.1.2 and apache, JDK 1.2

We have a catch-22 situation with WebCatalog 4.0 running on Cobalt RaQ3i.
In order to execute Java applets from within our proprietary WebDNA
language, we have standardized on JDK 1.2 for executing .jar files.
JDK 1.2 requires that glibc 2.1.2 be installed.
But...after installing glibc 2.1.2, we find that Apache does not
appear to function correctly, specifically none of the standard
Cobalt admin pages seems to appear, and many times Apache itself will
not start up.
What do we need to upgrade on a Cobalt RaQ3i in order to use glibc
2.1.2 and still have Apache work?
rpm -q apache returns "apache-1.3.6-C9export"
