What I did after generating a certificate for the entire site, was to use
https://ns1.mydomain.com as the secure server and set up user folders per
domain as needed.
That way they can conduct secure transactions within the secure server and
then return to their own non-secure area.
By trying to enable ssl on the individual domains would mean the browsers
will have to read a certificate that has been issued for another domain and
a warning window will appear.
