OK. Without looking at the process table, I'll take what you said by faith.
The fact is if you log in the UI as admin, you can't add users if the smb =>
1 (to enable file sharing) in the Product_raq.pm file. Maybe you can telnet
in as root and add users with the smb =>1 but it won't be thru the ui.

To keep this discussion from going around in circles, I guess the question
is...
How can you enable file sharing and keep on adding users via the User
Interface?
Because according to the documents in the knowledgebase, to enable file
sharing,
you have to do what I said above, but this gives an error message at the ui
when you try to add a user.

Not precisely.  If you look at the process table, you'll find that the
administrative server runs as root.  It really doesn't matter who you
login as since this does not use cgi-wrap to execute the configurable
modules as any user besides root...which is why it's able to do the
configuration to begin with.
