I run into the same problem installing KDE on the Qube.
Therefore I have increase the filesystem using this way:

Please note. that the root and var partition on the Qube are not big enough to
place all additional and all of the KDE packages.
Therefore you have to follow th next steps, if you do not plan to reorganize
the Qubes partiotions:

Change the directory structure so that /usr/local /usr/X11R6 /usr/src points
to the /home/users directotry. Use the following commands to do this:

        cd /usr

        Copy the following directories 1 to 1
        find src | cpio -pdmuv /home/users
        find local | cpio -pdmuv /home/users
        find X11R6 | cpio -pdmuv /home/users


        Delete the directories
        rm -rf /usr/src /usr/local /usr/X11R6

        Do a logical link
        ln -s /home/users/src /usr
        ln -s /home/users/local /usr
        ln -s /home/users/X11R6 /usr

After you have changed the directory structure it looks like this
using ls -lt /usr command:
