RE: [cobalt-developers] Hard Drive Mounting Brackets

Whoops! Good call.

Yeah, I meant to say two 27Gb drives, not 37gb. I went for a Western Digital
27Gb drive at 5400 rpm. It stays nice and cool and gives me plenty of extra
room. And yes, my sales rep and tech support sent a free drive bracket via
FedEx. And I'm using the RaQ3, not 3i.

Sean,

I have spoken with Cobalt Tech Support and they have told me that the RAQ3i
will not support an IDE drive over 32G. This is a limitation of the OS. I
have put a 40G drive in a 3i and the OS only recognized it as a 6G. I have
since installed a Maxtor 30G 7200RPM drive and it works fine. I did notice
about a 2 degree Celcius increase in temperature on the CPU however.
